Use this Mosquito Lure Replacement with the Oak Stump Mosquito Trap The Oak Stump Mosquito Trap uses a mosquito egg pheromone which mosquitoes use to mark special egg-laying places. Mosquitoes are drawn into the trap to lay eggs and can not find the exit and will eventually tire and drown in the liquid. Instructions:Use 4 cups of non-chlorinated or bottled water, or use the same amount of water from a natural source as a ditch, swamp or rain water (water already infested with mosquitoes will work best). Place the entire packet of green pellets in the water an stir to disperse the pellets. Open the lure packet, and without touching the lure with your hands, drop it into the water. Do not touch the lure with bare hands. Use gloves or tweezers. Leave the lid off the trap for the first day or two to assist in preparation. Replace Mosquito Bait Pack every 4 to 6 weeks. Place trap on ground away from pets and children where it cannot get knocked over. Leave trap undisturbed. Check once or twice a week to ensure adequate water remains in the trap. Rinse traps, but do not wash traps with soap as accumulated attractants will be washed away. Use all season long, starting as soon as daytime temperatures exceed 50 F. Traps placed early in the year will product lower summer mosquito populations. Use at least 2 to 4 traps per average yard, and 4 to 16 traps per acre, depending on closeness of swampy areas, mosquito intensity and temperatures.
