CFL's use about 75% less energy than regular light bulbs. They are much improved in recent years; no more flickering or dim bulbs. There may be a minor delay or initial less brightness in a cold room, but they are worth every penny saved. Recommended for open fixtures. These basic bulbs are not outdoor or wet rated and should not be used in dimmable or 3-way lights. A 15 watt CFL is approximately equivalent to a 60 watt bulb, 20 watts is equivalent to 75 watts, and a 25 watt CFL bulb is equivalent to a conventional 100 watt bulb. Estimated to last about 7,000 hours. Saves energy, money, and the environment benefits as well.
