We absolutely love our strand woven bamboo floor! We installed it in our kitchen where the California sun beats down in the afternoons. It's withstood the sun, and our snowy mountain boots. Once, a young child wrote on it with a permanent marker, but we were delighted that it came off with some organic orange cleaner.

The floor is so beautiful and a lot of visitors comment on it. We also purchased the stair pieces, and these are a very nice (though slippery) transition to our passive solar concrete floor. We placed a heavy rug at the top of the stairs to help prevent a fall. A contractor friend helped us install it, but it is VERY dense, and was somewhat hard to nail.

Employees at Ambient were very helpful, and the square footage price was very reasonable. The shipping is expensive, and it does seem less eco-friendly to ship heavy packages from China to the East Coast, and back to California, but overall, we're very happy customers.

Love the flooring! Very cost-effective, resilient and easy to install. Compared to traditional hardwood, there are no warped pieces, and the pieces are all the same length, so no time is lost looking for a piece to fit between two seams. Anyone we've ever had in the house has asked us about the flooring. We love that it is also a "green" choice, and the transaction for our purchase to ship out of country was absolutely pain-free.

My husband and I recently replaced the carpet in our family room with Ambient's Strand Woven Bamboo Flooring and we couldn't be any happier. The company is extremely knowledgeable and made us feel very confident in ordering on-line. We have an active 19 month old and a fiesty Scottish Terrior who definitely have tested the limits of this floor. We have our daughter's kitchen set in our family room and she has dropped (and thrown) many of her wooden food items and "stainless" steel pots. We were surprised to see that they didn't do anything to the floor. The only mark she has been able to make so far is from when she dropped her toy cash register. It left a very small dent, but the only time I notice it is when I am on my hands and knees. Our dog likes to run around and dig and hasn't put a scratch in it. We plan on putting the same bamboo flooring in our dining room. I would highly recommend this product to anyone considering hardwood floor.

My husband and I recently remodeled the entire first floor of our home. We have an active 4 year old son, 2 year old daughter, and rowdy mixed puppy - are comparing several products and talking to the sales staff at Ambient we felt totally comfortable ordering 1000 square feet of the materials, glue, etc online. This is an investment that compares to no other a homeowner will make in their lives and after 4 months (and 2 crazy holidays with extreme weather) we could not be happier with our selection. Installation was just as they had said and we followed their advice down to putting new underlayment done to ensure a good bond with the flooring. There are not many products I will put myself out there for - but this one is one that makes the top of that list in our lives.

This floor is amazing. We purchased about 700 sq. ft. for the first floor of our house. We have three dogs and wanted a green product that would stand up to the heavy traffic. We loved it so much that we did the rest of the house and our stairs. The stair treads are very slick and we have since added a carpet runner. The floor is very durable and has very few blemishes after a year and a half of three crazy dogs running all over them. The price of this product is more than standard bamboo products but definitely worth the price compared to its durability. The staff was always very friendly and worked to get the least expensive shipping rate with both purchases. As with other reviews, these floors are very dense and I would advise having professionally installed if you are going to nail down as we had to do. If you are floating the floor, DIY is definitely an option. I will definitely use this company in the future with our next house.

Very nice flooring - good price, easy to install, and GREAT customer service from the Ambient company people. We are do-it-yourself homeowners who had never installed a wood (or in this case bamboo) floor before and it went smoothly and looks beautiful. We installed it in our two kids rooms and playroom on the third floor of our house and are very happy with the results. We also bought some of the trim pieces and finished off the edges of our stairwell and moldings.
the only reason I didn't give this an "excellent" rating is because this flooring is a little vulnerable to water - don't leave any pools of water (like from a humidifier or radiator) on the floor as it will seep in and leave a mark.
But overall, I am very pleased with this flooring. It looks beautiful and I will definitely buy from Ambient again when we are in the market for another bamboo floor.

I installed the Ambient Strand Woven Bamboo flooring in my upstairs bedroom. Previously it was carpeted, and that was not a good choice for someone with 4 dogs and a cat! The bamboo stands up to all the pet challenges, and accidents just wipe up. Also, I installed it myself by glueing down, and the salespeople were very helpful every time I called with a question. I would recommend this product for anyone looking for a do-it-yourself tough as nails floor!

We purchased and installed the strand bamboo flooring for our living room, study, and four bedrooms about one year ago. It is beautiful and I like that it is a green choice. However, it is not as durable as we had hoped or had read that it would be. There are dents from dropped toys, scratches from toys w/ plastic wheels, some chipping away/shredding at the edges from general wear (after only a year), and some dramatic fading from the sun, noticeable when we move our area rugs. Overall we still love the look of it, just wouldn't say it much more hardy than other woods.

It was a pleasure to work with this company. They were prompt and responsive to our order. The flooring we chose will serve us well for many years. As unusual as it is in this day of false advertising, this company lives up to their commitment to good service while offering an excellent product.

I've had my "Fusion Strand" installed for over a year now and I love it as much today as I did when it was first installed. I have it in my kitchen, dining room, living room, hall & bathroom. I give the flooring itself an "excellent" rating due to the look, feel, durability & ease of care. However, I would rate the installation with an "average" it was a bit of a nightmare. That was probably due to my insistance of wanting it nailed as opposed to glued. After 2 attempts at nailing it (using 2 different nailing products, and calling the company with their suggestions)it was glued down (a bit messy, even for the professionals)Believe them when they say it's harder than the hardest hardwoods. Nails were flying off of it!
Customer service I would rate "average" also. They were great when I ordered the product & it arrived when expected. However, during the installation glue got on the flooring and it left dull spots. I called Ambient to see if there was something I could do to get rid of these dull spots and I am still waiting for a response. That was over a year ago. Somehow I don't think I'm going to hear back from them.
Take heed when they say to stay away from wet areas. I do have it installed in a bathroom and I haven't had a problem, however that bathroom rarely gets used. I do have a problem with my refrigerator "sweating" so I do have a warped spot under the refrigerator where the flooring has gotten wet. But you'd have that problem with any wood flooring, so that's not a negative with this flooring.
Overall, I love the flooring & I'd definitely install it again if given the choice.
