Historically, Ethiopia is the oldest recognized country of origin and is the birthplace of coffee. In 1960, Ethiopia became a member of the Inter-African Coffee Organization. Our coffee comes from a farmer group called Oromia Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union, which was founded in June, 1999. The co-op consists of 22,734 smallholder farmer members.
The Arabica coffee is grown organically and under the shade of a forest canopy in the Ethiopian highlands at an average height of 5,800 ft. making this a strictly hard bean.
This Old World bean produces a balanced cup with medium body, good acidity, and fruity finishes with a pleasant aftertaste; a great cup of coffee for any time of day!
